I'm hungry,..
..and right now, i'm craving for authentic kelabit food. I guess I'll just blog about some of the common kelabit food that I usually have with my dad.

To start it off, nuba laya
Nuba basically means rice in Kelabit, and the one above is basically mashed rice, wrapped with banana leaves. Something like the Malay's ketupat. It can be eaten on it's own or with or side dishes. Delicious :).

Next is the Labo Belato or Stir-Fried Wild Tapioca Leaves. The leaves are first boiled in water to removed out the poisonous sap. Then, they are later pounded using the pestle and mortar before finally being stir-fried with garlic.
Next is porridge, otherwise known as Kikid. Tasty and pleasant.
Those are some of the kelabit foods that I usually take with my dad when I'm back in Miri. I can't wait to savour these dishes again during the semester break.
